01-03 and 04-05 drivetrain same?

i was wondering if the drivetrain is the same from 01 to present or is it different in 04-05? thanks

If I'm not mistaken, the 2001-2003 models(XD) have standard heads, while the 2004-2005(XD2) models have CVVT(Constantly[Consistently?] Variable Valve Timing) heads. Also they are also named differently as well. The engines in the XDs are the Beta motor, while the XD2s motors are the Beta2.
