04 Tibueron towing capacity

Hi everyone,
I have a 04 Tiburon automatic and would like to tow our two motorcycles. My owners manual says that the car only has a 1000. lb towing capacity. I find this real hard to believe. I once had a 91 toyota celica that had a smaller engien and had a towing capacity of over 1500 lbs.

I need to tow about 1800 lbs. I hyundia just covering them selfs because of their great warenty? Has any one towed with their Tiburon, if so how much and how did it work out.

Any sugestions and advice will be helpful.

I wouldnt suggest it, you might endup paying for it in the end

Personally, I would never tow with any front wheel drive vehicle. You want all your weight over the drive axles. By towing, you're taking weight off them, causing poor traction and braking performance.

Just buy a $500 old piece of junk Chevy truck or something.
