1996 engine problem

My girlfriend has a 1996 20 16v Fx model and recently had a problem with the alternator ( regulator) which was charging at 15.7 v ( was blowing bulbs and fuses) now alternator is fixed but engine when full throttle is applied is not taking off as it should! at half throttle it feels ok but when you floor it instead of accelerate as it should it feels like it lacks power. It rev up to the limit no problem but no power (cannot feel any clutch slip)! any one has had this problem or know how to solve it as there are too many electronics to change ? thank you

probably just a coincidence, but check the h/t leads for arching . this will cause a missfire under severe loads.
