1997 gearbox change with 2001

hi people.. quike question..

i got a 1.6 1997 coupe and want to put in a gearbox from a ;
2.0 2001 coupe (triple lights)

is this possible..

are there any negative implications

can i just pull that one out and swap it with mine or do i need to buy extra parts or take of specific extras out from the 2001 coupe..

... if it is possible..

will my gear ratios change...... better/or worse


and lastly.....

how many hours labour would a garage charge to take my 1.6 gbox out and put the other one in..

let me know if it works and what you had to do becuase im curiouse.

you shouldnt have any problems as its the same box! slightly different gear ratio,s but thats all.

 if you're going do that, why not just buy a used 2.0L on ebay along with the gear box and then you'll get a lot more then for probably not that much more in comparison. or try useing the 1.6L gear box with a 2.0, may have to beef up the 1.6L tranny, but acorrding to flave1, its the same gear box.
