I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent with almost 55K miles on it. I have noticed for the past couple of days that when I put the car in reverse that there is a groaning noise coming from the front-- Could this be my transmission??

Most of these type noises are something that needs to be heard in person to pin point. It could be the tranny or even a worn mount causing an A/C line or steering line to vibrate. any number of things could cause something like this.
