2005 brakes

Hi I just found out that I need new brakes all the way around. Question is: I was told I have to have the computer reset or something before doing the job because of the ABS system. It has pads on front and shoes on back. I never heard of this before. I have changed brakes of domestic cars and trucks but not foriegn. Do I just change the pads and shoes as usuall or do I need to go to a garage?
 
Any insight would be great.

I don't have the ABS, but I know several Elantra owners who have done their brakes and I never heard anything about resetting the computer.  Even if you have to, I would think just disconnecting the battery would do it.
