I seem to be having a problem with my alarm system in my 2005 GLS. When I arm my alarm, I can unlock my doors using my keyless remote, but when I use the key, and unlock all of the doors the alarm goes off when I open the door. Any Ideas what might be causing this, and how to fix it??? Thanks

That's not bug, it's a feature. The remote arms the alarm and locks the doors, two totally independent functions that occur with a single push of the button. The ONLY way to disarm the alarm and unlock the doors at the same time is with the remote. The key ONLY unlocks the doors and has absolutely nothing to do with arming or disarming the alarm. If the alarm has been armed, you need the remote to disarm it.

Hi, I just bought a 2005 Elantra GT. I've noticed that if I push the lock button on the remote once, it locks all the doors but I have to push it a second time to alarm it. Then when I hit the unlock button, it disalarms and unlocks the driver's door the first time and I have to hit it a second time to unlock the other doors and hatch. Is that correct?

The first push of the lock button arms the alarm. If you don't believe me, press the button once and try to unlock the door with your key (not the fob)- the alarm will sound. The first time you push the lock button, everything locks and arms and you get confirmation by the marker lights flashing. The second time you get the light flash plus a chirp from the alarm.
When you unlock it, it unlocks the driver door first, then all the rest. There is a simple modification you can do to make them all work at the same time (you have to short the signal wires together so the two circuits are the same).

So why make it chirp only on the second press? Seems kinda silly, like it should chirp on the first one or not at all, or there should be some combination of keys you can press to turn the chirp on and off. Thanks though.
