does anyone know where the speed sensor on a 98 sonata V6 GL? ive removed each wheel but have yet to find the speed sensor (speedometer only works on occasion)

There should be one at each wheel.

The speed sensors at the wheels are for the antilock brakes and stability control. It couldn't work using the wheel sensors because the wheels are always changing speed relative to each other (during curves, no two wheels are turning at the same speed.. Speedos are always connected to the transmission. They've been that way on every car I've worked on since my first 1967 Chevy II Nova SS up until my '02 Mazda. I haven't dug into my wife's Sonata though.

speed sensor for speedometer is in the trans, remove air filter hose and look towards firewall, it's electronic.
