I have had noisy tappets since i bought the car in April 2009 used.Any way numerous oil changes to resolve the tappet issue did not resolve any thing,i used everything From AMSOIL syn to Castrol syn to Mobil 1 and regular oil and the even popular Royal purple now we are talking alot of money in oil changes here, so just a couple of days ago i was thinking about doing a engine flush but was kinda leary (i have heard horror stories from using flush that clogs up the pump)i wanted to do one a while back.So i went Fred Meyers and bougt a quart of Gunk 5 minute flush and let it go for 10 minutes ,popped the oil plug and it was very dirty,the put 5/30 Castrol regular not syn, and a quart of Risoline . Im impressd the car is so quiet in the mornings now,there is no more of that rattiling noise.But the only problem now is the dam crush washer that goes on the oil plug keeps leaking oil. The oil on the dipstick now is so clear ,its transparent ,compared to what it used to be
