My 2001 Elantra will not start.

When I open the door, the alarm goes off , when I place the key in the ignition and turn it , dash lights go on, but nothing else happens.

Dash board lights only, no starter or engine crank at all, seems like electric power is not getting to the starter ? I mention the alarm, because the remote will not turn it off, and the remote will not open the car doors, I must use the key and that sets off the alarm, somehow they are related

thanks

THE CAR WON'T START BECAUSE WHEN THE ALARM GOES OFF IT KILLS THE STARTER. UNTIL YOU RESET THE ALARM WITH THE REMOTE IT STAYS ACTIVE AS IF SOMEONE IS TRYING TO STEAL THE CAR.

maybe you needa another remote for your alarm or batteries. Turn off the alarm. Resets. Car Starts again
