engine problem--please help!

My 2002 Elantra GLS has recently been having some engine trouble. The car is making some lurching or jumping movements, as if it is trying to accelerate when I don't want it to. It happens mostly right after changing gears, but also when coasting. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

does it feel as if the throttle is sticking or hanging up for a few seconds after you started to decelerate ??

check the fuel filter and fuel pump
