ok people... i just got my front discs and pads changed.. on my 1997 hyundai coupe....... this was as teh discs were a little rusty due to their age so they were squeaking....

i was originally told by a garage it wud b one hours labour.. they then told me it will be 2.5 hours labour as they have a honda breaking system which means they have to remove the hub and suspension arm on each side...

is this true as it mean i pay 120 pounds instead of 45

also they said they have to push the bearings out and if they cant be saved they have to be changed.. which ended up happenin and that set me back 100 pounds...

is this also true when changing discs and pads on the front of a 1997 shape hyundai coupe.. 1.6i

yes this is true the rotors bolt on to hub assembly and bearing is pressed on and could possibly damage old bearing when pressing hubs back together

ok .. so it is standard proceedure on the tiburon for the hub to be reomved when changing brake discs....

this car is a bit harder than other cars to work on then.. but its nice

only on the ealier models . 98 onwards the discs are only held onto the hubs by a screw and are dead easy to change.
