I have a 2005 Tucson and next Monday I am taking it in to the dealer for the 6th time since February because of a check engine light. Every time it has come up as a code for a "major evaporative emission" which all but one time has translated as loose gas cap. Just curious if anyone else was experiencing this and what the solution was, as well as if anyone had any tips for how to deal with the service department that I feel I'm getting a total run around from. Thanks.

This may be a stupid question but I have to ask.  Are you making sure the gas cap is tight?  It must click at least 3 times when you tighten it.  My mother-in-law has the same problem with her 2003 Accent.  Every time she got gas the CEL would light.  I made her aware of clicking the cap 3 times and the problem went away.  If you are doing that them my guess is the cap isn't sealing correctly.

Just get a New gas cap    ...  and all you have to do to get the check engine light to go away is to unplug the battery...

I got a New cap under warrenty...
