hi .. i have recently got a 1997 coupe...
i got hyundai to do a healtcheck on the car....
they identified the clutch slave cylinder to be leaking and as i have a 6 month warranty i got it changed today...
the problem i was getting was that the car does not always get into Gear 1 and 2 very smoothly...
when this happens i have to go into gear and out and then it will start working smoothly again.......
hyundai did recommend i change the gear box oil... the cars mileage is 70,000 miles and from the health chek hyundai say
that the gearbox and clutch are fine??
do u lot think i just need to change the gearbox oil...

Hey, I have a 98 Tib, sort of had the same problem. It was the syncro meshes. I also had to replace a gear. It wasn't real cheap, $1750. If thats what it is, I would get the clutch replaced while they are in there. Cluthes are quite a bit cheaper on e-bay, if your worried about cash.
