my 2000 sonata has been trouble free until it turned 100K miles. It has since started hard starting. You have to crank it 2-3 times for it to start and it stumbles a little when it starts. Tune up at 70K when belt replaced. Any ideas?

1 i would start by checking the fuel pressure regulator, simlpy unplug the vacuum line from the regulator, then turn on the key to prime the car, if fuel comes out the hole, then its bad, needs replacing.
2 if thats good, then check out the plugs, what kind of plugs are in there?
3 fuel pressure would be another good place to check, except that you need a special adaptor to check pressure.
most of the time, a hard start follewed by a stumble, but runs fine is usually a leaking fuel pressure regulator.

The fuel pressure regulator was replaced (along with the fuel filter) and it starts perfectly again
Thanks
