i'm installing a remote starter/alarm system & need to identify the tach wire. i've tried finding a diagram on the hmaservice site, but i can't (although it's been very helpful for the BCM wiring). i understand it's a white wire, pin 61 on one of the 80 pin connectors (going to the PCM) near the driver's side strut tower. unfortunately, they both have white wires in pin 61. anyone know which connector? one is gray and is closer to the engine (part # 15461827) and the other is black and is closer to the strut tower (part # 15461825). i'd much rather tap into the wire there, than to remove the instrument cluster. just to clarify, this is a 2006 sonata. any help will be appreciated - thanks in advance.

I looked it up in WebTech and this is what I found.  If you go down to the bottom of the schematic diagram, there is a link for "Component Location Index".  Click on that, then click on PCM, and it gives you this picture:

The connector you want is C144-1 (it is in the schematic to the right of the pin numbers on that connector; follow the dashed line to the right to see it), so you want the one closer to the tower.

The Component Locator Index is awesome in that it provides actual photos of all the connectors on the components and labels them.  It's probably one of the best aspects of the WebTech.
