I've had virtually no problems with my Hyundai dealerships, and I've had service and/or warranty work done at three different dealerships. I've heard other people in Mass. complain about how horrible the dealers are up there, though. Until the car is in service for 5 years and has 60,000 miles, you still have the full warranty. If the dealer you bought from is a slug, try going to a different one for warranty repairs and stuff.

According to Hyundai commercial - yes.
In real life - Not true.
The I did not check right away CD player and another little features like that. That are hell, it's still under warranty. But no, The Hyundai full warranty is JUST FOR 1 YEAR / 12000. Then it partially stops for different components. Like CD player warranty expires at 36 month/ 36000 miles or so.
Warranty for my CD player is gone. :-(

Yeah, I forgot there are some limitations. There is the 1 year/12,000 miles I think on wear components like brake pads and clutches, the 3/36 on the radio, and I think 2/24 on the battery.
If the Santa Fe is anything like the Elantra, getting a new aftermarket stereo installed is pretty easy. I replaced my stock stereo two days after buying my car anyway (I couldn't get one on the lot with a CD player).

I don't understand why you stayed and bought one from this dealership. I would've intinctively walked out the door when things didn't add up! You're the buyer and seemed like they controlled the whole situation and you just went along with it. CarFax is usually accurate regarding accidents. I don't feel sorry for you because you put yourself in such situation. Hyundai will usually give you a call or survey regarding your experience with the dealership, tell them the truth. Hyundai is striving for better customer relations.

Welcome to the forum. In the future, you may want to check the original post date of the thread before you post a reply. This thread over 8 months old. Tarpan asked his question on 6/1/2007 12:14:35 AM. I'm sure he's gotten his answer by now. Thanks.

Answering to older posts doesn't mean that new members who logs in can't benefit from new suggestions. The original poster was in need of "advice" and he won't be the last consumer dealing with dishonest dealerships! At least someone new who reads this posts can stand up to manipulative dealers.

Sorry you feel that way. I was only trying to offer advice to a newbie.

Advice? I believe you just broke house rule #2.. respecting other peoples' opinion. You didn't need to post that kind of reply to my comment. It was better left alone instead of making someone insignificant. Yes I'm a noob and this is how you treat them? Arrogant you are!

Again, can only say I will say I'm sorry you feel that way.
