Hello all,
I would like to take just a moment to introduce myself and my ride. I'm in the Army stationed in Alaska. Gas prices got to high for my blood, so I had to get rid of my former vehicle, a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 V10(gas hog). My solution, a brand new 2005 Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback w/auto trans.

I'm loving it so far. Thanks for asking. I've had it for just over a month and have already put over 1200 miles(100% of which are city miles) on her.

Oh yeah, she's sitting at my parent's house waiting on me to go home on leave from Alaska.

It's a 1973 w/ 225 slant 6.

If you want more info/pics of her, check out my website at this link

it looks very nice! is it restored, or orignal?

Thanks, it's a little of both. The body was repainted by the previous owner, the interior is original, and the motor was just rebuilt to factory. It's still a work in progress. Next on the list are new wiring harnesses, battery cables, carb, intake/exhaust manifold(it's mostly one piece on the slant sixes), new carpet, and new seat covers. Unfortunately, I don't have it with me here in AK. I left it with my parents back home in Texas for me to drive and work on when I'm home.

A month and only 1200 miles? We bought my girlfriend's car three weeks ago, and it has 2200 miles on it now. Dang, we drive a lot!

Dang, 2200 miles in 3 weeks! That does seem like a lot. I believe the average is supposed to be around 1000-1200 a month. An update on my mileage, I've had it since April 8th and I've now got 1,700 miles on it.

For one, I'm trying to keep the mileage down. Secondly, the way gas prices are right now, it's to expensive to just drive for fun. Otherwise I probably would.

Update: One month and one day old, and it turned 3300 miles yesterday. Probably almost 3400 today. I never thought we'd own anything that would be overdue for its first oil change on its one month birthday.

Dang, 05SG. You do drive a lot. I've had mine for almost 2 months(next friday will be the 2 month mark), and I've only just the other day topped 2,000 miles.
