Hello, I own a 2001 tiburon and I want to add a cold air intake to it but, I'm not sure which ones are street legal. I was interested in getting the Weapon-R secret weapon intake but can't find if its street legal or not. If not, could someone give me a list or a data chart with info on different intakes that are street legal?

i think i started a thread early on this but not sure...sry

it really is a load of crap that the cali govt has so little to do with their time as to restrict HOW your car gets its air...

it may even reduce ut mpg a little if you drive it good....... so dont worry about that law.. its just an air filter.. most insurance companies arent even bothering with air filters ne more.. (as in they dont mind) ......

I still havn't gotten around to getting anything for our tib yet , I was talking to a friend at work and he advised me to get a short ram instead of a CAI cause it rains / floods alot here and the CAI would ruin the engine or something ... is that true ? :( I really would rather have the CAI but I guess if worse comes to worse I can get both and swap out depending on the weather :\

if it rains alot you can get the aem w/ the bypass valve but you only really need to get the bypass valve is if you completely submerge the filter in water.

Quick question. If the water is high enough to get sucked through the intake, will you really be driving in it?

well it floods here and my last car was a jeep so I never really had to worry about it , but yea sometimes you are forced to drive through about 1-2 feet of water in order to get anywhere here.... a my friend was saying even with the bypass once your out of the water the filter will still be wet and can cause damage .. I had been checking out the weapon R dragon short ram intake but I dunno if it will be as good as the AEM CAI... :\

Get your father-in-law to assist you.

Don't screw up your neat car dude!
