When I lock or unlock my Tucson with the remote the front and rear lights no longer flash. They always did and now they don't - could this be a fuse? Anyone else had this problem?

A similar problem happens with Tiburons.  When you lock the car with the remote two things happen: the doors lock and the alarm is set.  THe flashing lights are to tell you the alarm is set, not to tell you the doors are locked.  If you were to push the button on the remote with a door open, the doors would lock but the alarm would not set and the lights would not flash.  If you then close the door, the alarm would be set and the lights would flash.  Many times, when the lights do not flash, it's because either one of the doors, the rear hatch or the hood is not closed totally.  So my suggestion to you is make sure everything is closed and don't forget about the rear hatch glass.

Thanks. I checked all those and everything is closed (there are also dashboard warning lights for anything that's open) also doesn't the fact that the horn blows when I lock it mean that the alarm is set - or is that just a function it does whether it's set or not?

you probably got the answers you were looking for, but i noticed that on my car, if a door is open, it won't honk/beep at all.  the lights will flash, but the car doesn't beep.
