removing front rotors-2000 Sonata

Folks,
   Are the front rotors on a 2000 Sonata pressed on?I called the service department today of the local Hyundai  dealer and he said they were NOT ............ spent many hours today trying to remove them and had no success.........Can someone give me some direction on the easiest method of removing a front rotor................Thanx in advance ...............VSR 

Are there screws in them like on the Tiburons?
My Tib has 2 phillips head screws holding on the front rotors.

-removed 2 Philip head csrews
-removed axle nut
-applied oil to rotor where it meets axle
-cut a 2 X 4 the diameter of the rotor and allowed it to bottom against 2 lug nuts....with a 2 jaw hub    
  puller tried to force it off while tapping rotor with a  hammer .....it did not budge
-only tried one side due to the difficulty I encountered

well jesus... I don't know man.
Is this the first time the rotor has ever been removed?

First, you do not need to remove the axle nut.  That does not hold the rotor on.
 
Second, if these are the original rotors (or have been on a few years), it is probably rusted in place.  The rears in my 2004 Tib were and I had to beat the crap out of them to get them off.  Have a helper turn the rotor slowly while you beat the rotor off from behind.  And a simple hammer probably won't be enough, you will need a small, 5-lbs sledge.

One other thing that may help you (If you have not already gotten it off), soak the inner contact points of the rotor with penetrating lubricant. I noticed you used oil, but oil does'nt work like penetrater does.
Spray the front and the rear of the rotors contact points, and spay the bases of the wheel studs.

Yeah, it's probably seized up.  I've seen several posts by others who had the same problem.   In the extreme they had to be cut off with a Sawzall.
