When I bought this used Tuscon, I only got 1 key and 1 remote.

Is there a more reasonably priced source for keys and remotes than the dealership ?

Thanks

Im sure there is a more better way that's cheaper than the dealer, problem is to locate where..try a google search and see if you can bring it up that way:

There is nothing magical about the key I think; I had a spare key made for my Elantra and it works fine.

The tricky part is the remote.  If you can find one online through ebay or whatever, buy one.  Then take it to a dealer (if your car has less than 60,000 miles and 5 years on the road) and tell the dealer that one of your remotes stopped working.  They may program it for you under warranty.

As long as the car is less than 5 years old (from the date it was put into service when it was new) and has less than 60,000 miles, the bumper-to-bumper warranty is still in effect.

i got a used 2005 tucson in august of 2006, and the car came with two remotes and two keys.  one of the remotes was kind of banged up with torn buttons.  since it's my car, i kept the nice remote, and gave my mother the other one.  lately, she's noticed that she has to struggle with pushing the buttons to unlock the doors.  she think its the battery inside.

i'm not sure exactly what's inside the remote, and if there really is a battery inside, but is this something i can fix myself, or would i have to go to the dealer for some tinkering?
