I have an 06 accent with about 46000 miles on it and it now makes a very annoying clatter in when started cold. Check out the video and please let me know if it is injector noise, piston slap, or normal valvetrain noise? Thanks a bunch.

Does the noise dissipate as the engine warms up? If so, how long does it take for the noise to disappear? Please read the technical service bulletin in the attached graphic. I would guess the described problem would be worse with a cold engine.

Ive always used OEM filters and yes, it goes away completely after it warms up. Is this piston slap? or loud injectors? It's really annoying and loud as you drive off.

I think this engine has hydraulic actuators (analogous to lifters in a push rod engine) that will clatter if starved for oil, but will quiet down once oil pressure and flow builds up. Piston slap or a bad wrist pin noise usually don't go away. The audio sounds like unusual valve train noise. It should be covered by warranty, so I'd take it to a dealer.
