Hey All,
I just got an '01 Hyundai Accent Hatchback GS model the other day. I love it so far. 33.5 MPG on my first tank of gas, mixed city and highway driving. That really pleased me. It has all the usual GS options and really is a comfortable little car.
However, I have the WHITE faced gauge cluster (Tach, speedo, etc.). What's the deal with this? Ever other Accent I've seen in person and on Ebay has the black faced gauge cluster. I like it because it is easier to read in Daytime, black numbers on white background. And at night, it lights up indiglo blue. I really like this. Was this an option, or something?

its an after market part, i beleive they are called indiglo gauges... they are fairly inexpensive and easy to install, the guy who had it before you must have put it in.

It's NOT an aftermarket part. It is factory. If it's not factory, it is so freakishly close you can't tell. It's identical to the black speedometer, the only difference is the faceplate is white and the numbers are black instead of vice versa. If it was installed, it was installed by the dealer. It was in the car when the original owner drove it off the lot new, with 9 miles on it. I've seen one other white Accent GS that has the WHITE faceplate. Maybe WHITE cars got it?

B/c they light the iniglo blue color, you know they are aftermarket.
Hyundai only used red, green, and white bulbs in the clusters until 2005 on all models.
White faces were not a factory part.

Yeah this is a great easy and cheap mod for all hyundais. I did it on my 98 Elantra and everyone that came in the car would compliment it. I'm about to buy them for my my 02 accent now. Just some advice if it ever breaks, be very careful not to move the needles when removing/installing it, it can permanantly damage the cluster!
