Yes!!!!!!!
I own a 2006 Sonata with 12000 miles & no problems. Only trip to the dealer was for a free oil change. I have owned the car since August, 2006. If the car continues to be trouble free, I will definetly buy another.

The jury is still out on that right now. I've had a few problems with what was a new 06 v6 sonata. I really like the car. But a few things are making me question that. Loose power steering resevour bolt, Engine vibration/noise/sucking sound, gas mileage. etc. I have a about 21000 miles. Time will tell.

Its been trouble free with 21,000 on it. I have a Elantra, with 88,000 on it, trouble free also and I bought it new in 2000. Decent bang for the buck. What I don't like is my local service department for Hyundia. If it were based on them, I would NEVER buy another one. But I found a better service vendor about 1 hour away. Parts are a little high on the Sonata being price controled by the company and dealer. I rebuilt one for my son to drive out of the junk yard parts and no complaints there either and there are a lot of them around so parts should remain available at far less than dealer pork prices. I'm not crazy about buying importes but the USA stuff is junk out of the gate. I finally gave up on them except for my Vette and diesel dually truck. My son beats his Sonata to death to prove they are junk. After 2 years, the Sonata is winning out. He now has a 167,000 on his and still runs great.

We own 4 at the present, and have had 6 total, only problems, right now our son's 04 accent with 78,000 needs a new tranny, and when we traded our 02 Sonata in on the 06 last year we went from 27mpg down to barly 20mpg hwy.
Overall we have been satisfied

To those that said no...
You would explained your reasoning. What was it that put you over the edge and would say no again?

--- Half or more of those actually DO NOT OWN/KNOW THE SONATA... They're just visitors trying to bash a car they don't know. It's very easy to do...
You'll always find them on those review boards, for cars, or LCD monitors, or printers, or any product, people who have nothing better to do than just trash the product.
So while others would rate a product as excellent, giving it 4-5 stars, they'll rate it as ONE STAR.
But then, a troll is what we can smell from far.

Any brand has some percentage of lemons...
I owned an 1999 Elantra wagon (bought it new), traded it in for Pontiac Vibe 2007 last November. I didn't have problems with Elantra, it was a good car, especially for the price of $10,000 I've paid. I wanted just to have a new car and Vibe was the only suitable option for me to buy and I like it so far.
Also, I still own a 2001 V6 Sonata (bought it new) with 28k miles on it, so far no problems except of speed sensor failure recently. I think it's good car for the money. I would definitely buy a new one when time comes to it.

Will check out the new Concept car with the V8 when it comes out.
Did you know it will come out as a large sedan and also as a coupe (replacing the Tiburon)? At least that's what I hear.

I would without a doubt. My 2005 Sonata is actually my second Hyundai; my first was a 2001 Elantra GT, and I've had no problems with either.
I don't know for sure that my next car will be a Hyundai, but I will most certainly purchase another.

I would DEFINITELY buy another Sonata----I love the car I have---My 2006 LX is simply spectacular (so far anyway---after reading some of the posts here, I am a bit worried however!)
For the money---my car is simply an outstanding value!

Hi all,
New to the forum but not to Hyundai. I have owned a 1996 Sonata (sold), 2000 Elantra (owned) and a 2006 Sonata (leased).
Would I "buy" another Hyundai? No. Then again, I wouldn't buy any other new car either. As my forum username implies, I am not mechanical by any means (not yet anyway). However, I know when a car has problems. I agree with the poster who said that every manufacturer and model has some lemons but I believe that Hyundai has more than the average because of poor quality control. With that said, what are you expecting for a such a cheaply priced car? A Mercedes?
My lease is on it's second year with 14.5k miles. Already I can hear some thunping in the fornt suspension that should not be there. Nothing I have to fix right now but if I were to own it, you can bet that I would be repairing something in the next year that I wouldn't have to with a different brand with better quality control.
Still, Hyundais have been good to me.
The '96 Sonata with 100k plus miles on it is still running arround for the guy I solf it to without any major work required. The '00 Elantra has lived through 2 accidents and 70k miles without any major work on it (besides changing the damaged parts in the accidents). This latest Sonata, I'm not so sure of but then again, I don't care all that much since I am handing in the keys next year and deciding if I want to lease again or if the classes for wrenching have taken me far enough to own a used car that I can make worth the money.
One thing you can't beat is how Hyundai has done what most of us always talked about as young kids - if only that car had a Honda accord rear end, Nissan Altima mid-styling and a Toyota Camry front end ... then it would like like a new Sonata.
Lexus *ahem* I mean "Veracruz" anyone?
