Ok first try a capacitive discharge procedure. DISCONNECT both battery cables from battery and touch the ends to each other ( may have to use a wire or wrench to make contact for 30 seconds) BE CAREFUL TO NOT TOUCH BATTERY POSTS. This will surely clear any faults stored. If light is still on at start up something is wrong. This fault can only be set when the vehicle performing its own evap test with entails vehicle is running or being driven. It doesn't perform this test at start up. If light is still on at start up may you need to verify the your Pcm has the latest rom Id . There is a pcm update for a po456.

I did just that... disconnected both terminals and used a bridge wire to connect the two for 30 seconds (possibly longer).

The engine light is on from first turn of the key and stays on.

I will have to bring it to the dealer and have them check the PCM.

IT WAS THE DAMN PCM UPDATE!!!!

Just brought it in, 1/2 hour later... no check engine light... $0 spent...

I called the dealer yesterday and asked if they new about it, they had to dig deep into the dungeon of their service department to find the "PCM Guru" hiding in the corner... talked to him for about 20 minutes before he said... "From what I see here, this update fixes everything you're describing... and we've never updated any cars since 2013 when this came out."

Probably the biggest WTF moment at a dealership I've ever had...

Goes to show that they're probably selling people on $400 charcoal canisters, $40 solenoids, and $20 gas caps with $180/hr. labor tacked on....

Unbelievable.

That's good news. Glad to have helped. I've had plenty of those updates performed in our region for this fault
