Default Extending Hyundai iPhone/iPod Cable 2012 Accent

I have the Hyundai iPhone/iPod that came with my 2012 Accent but would like it it were a bit longer. Has anyone had any luck either adding a 3.5mm and USB extension cables or just adding an iPhone/iPod Extension cable to the to the Hyundai iPhone/iPod cable and all the functions still work?

Would like to just add an iPhone Extension Cable, thinking about getting this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330543377517...84.m1423.l2649 instead of running the other 2 cords if possible.

I got the extender i linked to from Ebay and gave it a try on the Hyundai cable and all it does is charge my iPhone no audio on head unit or I can not play out from my iPhone to the speakers.

I found 3.5mm and USB extenders and attached those and that way worked fine with the Hyundai Cable.

Anybody find a cheaper longer cable or extender? I found this: For only $2.60 each when QTY 50+ purchased - Audio and Sync Cable for iPhone / iPod (Apple Dock Connector to USB / 3.5mm Audio) | iPhone/iPod Cables but they seem to be discontinued.

Thanks
