Default Transmission Oil Temp Sensor

100K miles on my 2009 Hyundai Accent & I got a check engine light. Dealer checked & said it's the transmission oil temperature sensor but they didn't have it in stock so they ordered it. Today they cancelled my appointment to replace it because they "don't have time". Thinking about doing this myself but I have no clue where it is. I'm guessing I'll need to remove the pan & replace the fluid. Finally, MY QUESTION: Anyone ever done this? All day job? If so I'll call another dealer. Also, the check engine light went off when I drove it home but I'm not counting on it staying off. Part # is: 46386-22600. Thx.

easy job. it is mounted to the valve body and is not hard to find if you just look for it. yes drain and drop the tranny pan to get to it. good time to change the filter too since it will be right there and might have to be removed to give you room to work.

it is a black rectangle shaped thing that is on a stand off mount hanging in the air. when the pan is on and full of fluid it is in the fluid i might add.

you will also have to remove the battery and battery mount and the air cleaner box to do this job to give you room and access to the harness on the top outside of the tranny.

have fun!!!
