Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default 2005 Hyundai Elantra GT Caliper Guide Pins

I replaced my rear disc brake pads on the above car. I did not realize the two caliper guide pins are different, one is all metal and thick and the other is thinner at the bottom and has a ruuber sleeve on it. I did not notice which pin went on the top of the rear disc brake caliper. Can anyone tell me which pin goes where? Bruce

Can you post pics? The bolts should be the same.

Here is a picture of the guide pins, these are replacement but my guide pins are the same. As you can see one has a tapered section the little rubber sleeve goes over. The bolts that are used are the same but I am questioning which guide pin goes in the top hole. The pins will fit in either hole. Bruce

In your parts diagram it shows the pin with the rubber sleeve going in the bottom hole so if that diagram is accurate that would mean the solid pin goes in the top hole. Bruce

I think this diagram is accurate and yes, the rubber sleeve should go tp the bottom hole and the solid pin goes to the top hole. I am not sure but that diagram is not wrong.
