2006 Elantra car alarm/FOB problem
Hi all, first post here.
I have a loose ground cable on my battery that I've neglected to replace since I'm an idiot, and while at class today it disconnected. When I jiggled it to re-establish the connection, my car alarm started blaring. I couldn't turn it off with my keyless entry, and I couldn't start the ignition. I tried to jump it, thinking the battery was dead, but I'm starting to think the power outage somehow reset the onboard computer and it now won't recognize my FOB. Does this make any sense to you guys that actually know things about cars? And if so, how do I fix it? Tow it to a nearby dealer?

To turn the alarm off try the following:
1. Unlock the door with the key, which will cause the alarm to start honking.
2. Insert the key in the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position but do not turn to "START".
3. Wait for 30 seconds.
After completing the steps above, the system will be disarmed.
