I purchased a 2012 Elantra Limited with Nav and the USB port does not work. The USB did not work before I purchased the new vehicle and the dealer said it was my memory stick. 3 visits and almost 1 month later still doesnt work. Dealer says the Hyundi Engineers say it is the "Master" harness. I have seen the electrical schem and I assume it is the Radio itself since it seems to be the only thing left. USB should not be that hard to figure out, 4 wires to the plug that goes into the radio. I asked the tech if he rang out continuity from the usb pins to the radio and looked at me with a blank stare. I don't think Hyundai trains there service techs well. It will be another 3 weeks until this harness comes in. Is anyone else having an issue with no USB?

One of the biggest pains is that the tech tells me it is an 1.5 hour job to disassemble the dash, this has been done twice and there are all kind of scratches on the center console less then 1 month old. Looks like they will be replacing that now.

 

How do you know the USB port is bad. I am having trouble too, but the port is Okay. I get "connection error" when I try to use the USB port with an MP3 player. The round audio cable works fine. It's only the USB that will not work. Please let me know exactly what your issue is. Thanks

 

The tech checked all four pins. I tried multiple us sticks and two different ipods in other vehicles on the lot.
