Is there anyway to permantely disable the alarm, or at least remove the sound. I have a 2008 Elantra and for some reason it likes to go off between midnight and 4am, and I am sure my neighbors are over it, becasue I know I am. Any ideas? Or should I just take it to the dealership so they can play detective and try to figure out what is causing it?

 

If the alarm is going off then there is a problem that needs to be fixed. Disabling the alarm isn't the solution.

I'm sure this isn't the reason but there have been examples were a person would deliberately set a car alarm off even night waiting for the owner to get tired of it going off and finally disable the alarm. Then that's when they would steal the car.
