Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default Connect iPhone 4S to 2012 Elantra

I just purchased a certified pre-owned 2012 Elantra earlier today. I went to plug in my iphone into the usb port using the standard apple cable in order to play my spotify, but the phone would not connect at all. It kept trying to connect, then stop, retry, stop, retry, stop, etc. until it said connectivity error. Is this a true error, or do I need to buy a separate cord either from Hyundai or aftermarket on Amazon in order to play music off my phone AND charge it? Seems weird to me that my typical apple cable that I've always used to connect my phone to my usb connection in my previous car won't work now. I was going to call the dealership in the morning but figured I'd ask here first.

Thank you.

Default Spotify

I'm not sure if there is a difference between 2012 and 2013 but your phone should charge and play music from the phone using a normal Apple cord, at least mine does. Spotify or other streaming services may only want to work via Bluetooth streaming.

John, I am going to say right now in my very first post that you did not purchase your 2013 until at least September 2012 or later and that your radio has two ****, one for power on the left and one for tuning on the right.

In return, I purchased my 2013 in July 2012 and I only have one big button in the middle of the radio. I require the special adapter that Hyundai sells for $30+.

Yes, I purchased my 2013 in January of this year, so my radio does have the 2 **** setup and works just with the standard 30pin usb cable.
