Default Hyundai i30 break light issue

Hi all

When i brake the top brake light turn on but the 2 brake lights on the side do not turn on. Have anyone experiences this?

I have read somewhere else that a reset of the ECU is enough to solve this?

Never heard of this brake light and ECU connection.
Usually the brake light circuits are independent of the ECU

Get a Haynes manual for your vehicle
Look at the electrical schematic for the brake system
It should show you whether it is hooked up with the ECU
Then, you can use a multi-meter or Digital Volt Meter (DVM) to test the circuit
Check to see if the brake lights are getting the 12 volts and that there is a ground or return path.

Obvious question: are the bulbs in the 2 brake lights on the side burned out?
