We have a 2007 Entourage which seems to no longer blow a/c or heat. In Jan. 2016 we smelled an electrical burning smell through passenger side vent while heat was on. The smell went away when the heat was turned off. The heater didn't blow hot air for a couple of days, but then began working again without problems. Now, at the end of Feb. we are on vacation and had the electrical burning smell again for just a few minutes. Now we can no longer get cold air or heat. The blower works fine. We have checked many of the fuses, but they all seem fine. The service engine light is not on and the only other thing we have noticed not working correctly is the compass. Any suggestions? We would like to try to fix before heading north into cold weather again.

 

I am unsure what could cause that problem, electrical burning is never a good thing and can sometimes be tricky to figure out. I would suggest that you have it diagnosed, if you find the problem I would be happy to find the part for you.

 

You may have a faulty thermostat. Have it checked.

 

Would the thermostat cause that smell though? It just doesn't seem plausible.
