Default Matrxi engine getting overheated(Oil leaked from it)

Ive had my Matrix for about a year now and noticed today that it was making a burning smell after a relatively short drive. I opened the bonnet up and found steam/smoke to be coming from under the engine cover and a splattering of oil dried over the top of the metal. I topped up my coolant and water and will top up oil tomorrow, however the temperature gauge in the car does not go very high ( stays about halfway). Any ideas what might be wrong?

Kind regards,

Rob

You need to replace your tappet gasket most likely. Any luck?
