Default 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe ODB-II Code P1193

Car:
2003 Hyundai Santa Fe V6

Problems:
#1. Last night car set with engine off and ignition in accessory for 1 1/2 hour with radio on. Went to start battery down, boosted car started and ran fine. Drove 12 miles home at highway speeds. This morning battery down, placed on charger for about 40 mins, started perfectly. Went to two different auto stores and checked battery, alternator, starter, all checked OK.

#2. After checking electrical while stopped at light engine rpm dropped and engine shuttered and almost died. No check engine light. Checked codes and only showed P1193, which I understand to be limp home mode.

Hope someone can help, I am a mechanic, but on diesel and heavy equipment.

Look for excessive parasitic draw, or battery is dieing on its own.

P-1193 and no other 11xx codes.... buy a can of carb and clean the throttle plate and bore real well... other thing is to get carb run through the idle passage to clean it out.. I have a tube I made to slip into the airtract and hit the throttle plate with spray so it goes through the idle bypass port....... rev the motor up and drop the throttle closed, SPRAY as soon as you drop the throttle closed and engine slows down, STOP spray as it hits idle,,, dont stall engine.... do this a number of times.

This should remedy your situation, unless you have other codes you not telling
