My SF will not start... I have like a half tank of fuel in my vehicle but it is showing empty on the fuel gauge. Will the sending unit not working and showing empty fuel tank stop my fuel pump from activating and stop my car from firing up.??? It spins over good but will not fire up and run.... Any other suggestions will be welcomed ..... Thanks... Bill R.

If you are lucky, perhaps this is just a fuse. I can not upload a PDF
for you due to the file size restrictions at this site. If you send me a
PM with your email contact information, I will send you a wiring schematic
for your car's circuit in question.
In the meantime, you should check a couple of items in the engine
compartment that might be candidates for your lack of power to the the
fuel pump and sending unit. This discussion is solely in regards to the
Engine Compartment Junction Block, the relay and fuse box located above
the LH wheel well, that is where power distribution begins.
Locate fuse ECU (B+) 15Amp and verify it is good, a visual inspection
should tell you if it is "Open" or "Good". After that little check, locate the
Fuel Pump Relay and remove it and visually inspect the pins on the bottom
for a dull or shiny status. You might swap it with another like relay in the
box to see if it the cause of your problem. You should see the fuel level
register a couple of seconds after you turn the ignition switch on, this
tells you the pump and sending unit are working and you should have
pressure to the rail for the motor to run.
If both of those issues pass the visual inspection tests and you still
don't have fuel level and pressure, it will be time to dig deeper into the
circuits. The ECM provides the control signal that energizes the fuel
pump relay. The relay might not be energixing due to a loss of signal
from the ECM. There are a couple of other areas that may need to be
addressed, but if you see the schematic diagram all this should make
sense. If you are not blowing the fuse mentioned earlier, you just might
have an open harness wire that supplies power to the tank level sensor
and pump.

Advanced and Auto Zone has loaner fuel pump testers. A schrader valve is located on the fuel rail just back of the engine check for pressure. Just a short hose with a pressure gauge. You need about 39psi.
Spray some starting fluid in the intake if it starts use previous link.
A bad crankshaft sensor will cause a no start. Pull a cover and check for spark pull a plug wire off a coil and install a plug tester or pull a plug.
