So I swear the seatbelt chime is possessed! It workes normally if a belt comes unlatched while driving- a chime and the seatbelt light comes on. However, every time I make a right turn (and sometimes while just driving straight!) the chime goes off. No light comes on in the dash... just the annoying chime keeps going off. It's starting to drive me crazy! Anybody have any ideas why it could be doing this, or is there another problem in the vehicle that causes the same chime to go off?

 

Just in case this may help anyone else out that has had this problem. We figured it out. It was actually the DOOR chime going off, not the seatbelt chime. (sounds the same...). What happened was the hook that the door latches on to stay closed was loose. So when I would close the door, it would stay closed but not all the way. When I would turn corners, or drive over 60 kms it would go off, because the door sensor wasnt staying depressed at all times.

Hope this saves somebody all the stress that I have had listening to it! LOL

 

My 2009 Santa Fe started doing the EXACT same thing, and it's driving me crazy. Thank you so much for posting this info - I'm going to check my doors after work tonight!
