Default 2004 Santa Fe 3.5

Hi,

I have a 2004 Santa Fe 3.5 with 145K mi.

This problem just came up. The car runs fine on the road but won't hold idle. it just drop to zero RPM and dies. It starts and will remain running with the excellerator. But the minut you lift off the excellerator it dies.

Any suggestions is appreciated. You can answer be back at v1vrfly@aol.com

Thanks

Greg

TPS sensor, its right on the throttle body, i can almost garrentee that is the problem. My ex's car was doing the same thing, changed that, cleaned the throttle body and ran like new.
Here is the cheapest one i found on ebay -

Yes, I'd check the TPS first. Also consider checking the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve.

With the mileage you said, cleaning the MAF and/or throttle body would be a good idea too.
