Smile 2004 Santa Fe CV axle Replacement

Just posting this because I looked all over the damn Interweb and found nothing on the subject.

Process to change CV Axle on a 2004 Santa Fe AWD 2.7L:

- Take off tire
- take off axle nut (32mm) with impact
- remove calliper and support it out of the way as to not damage break line
- disconnect tiered end
- disconnect lower ball joint
- lower lower control arm to allow sufficient room to remove axle from hub
**careful not to damage ABS line, very delicate**
- grab hold of the axle and give her a good jerk to break if free from the retaining ring
- run around the block fist pumping while holding that old axle high for everyone to see

Reverse process for installation of the new axle. Only thing to pay attention to is when your sliding in the new axle into the tranny, make sure you feel it click in. Test this by trying to pull it out, resistance should be felt.

And remember, lube is everyone's friend, use anti-sease where applicable and lube up the axle end that slides into the tranny.

Cheers.
