Thanks for posting this question and to NovaResource for providing such a detailed answer. I am about to attempt this myself and was dreading searching the internet for hours looking for a solution.

Great post! Thanks for the information. I have an 07 Santa Fe with the standard radio which I would like to replace. I've been told by Circuit City that in order to retain the function of the steering wheel audio controls I will needharness wiring that will cost $150. That really sounds pretty steep. Does anyone have the comparable info for the 08 with steering wheel controls? Or, can direct me to the right place? I'm wanting to take out and replace it with a JVC hd-radio. I've spent hours searching the internet and haven't come up with anything. Getting pretty discouraged. I've never attempted this sort of thing before but, even if I don't try to do this myself, I like to be informed about what's being done to my car. Thanks!

Can anyone tell me which part is the "crash panel lower panel"?

I can't find anything in the online manual that identifies this?

1. Remove the crash pad lower panel.
2. Remove the center lower garnish (A).
