CEL P0456 Ideas? 2009 Santa Fe
Recently got a P0456 code for the CEL that popped up. Wanted to note I was involved in another thread concerning fuel senders but didn't want to overtake that as this is a different issue I believe. My husband did replace the fuel senders about 3 weeks ago because the CEL code for that popped up and all was fine for almost three weeks, now the new CEL code.
Of course tried fiddling with the gas cap, looked for any cracks, nothing. Checked the filler tube and don't find any leaks. Didn't smell an gas in the car. Did alot of reading and found the next step is probably the purge valve, so we have that on order and will replace that tomorrow. BUT, I filled up today and by the time I got home (20 miles) I detected a small scent of gas while I was driving. Once in our garage I got down on hands and knees and smelled all inside the car to see if maybe by chance something was leaking concerning the fuel sender, nothing at all in the back seat and by that time I smelled nothing in the front seat either. I walked around the car outside, sniffing and smelled a fairly strong gas smell right around the passenger side rear wheel which is really strange in my eyes. Does anyone have any idea what the heck that would be? SHould we still move forward with the purge valve just to rule it out? I don't want to keep throwing money in if it's something else we should be looking at. Also, what is covered regarding emissions warranty? My santa fe has 66,000 miles on it. Maybe this is something I should just take to the dealer to figure out? But can't afford if it's not covered. IF I do get some suggestions to do that, should I tell them we changed the fuel senders ourselves?

Thanks, yes, knew what the code was for. We're still trying to figure out why the passenger side smells of gas when it gets filled, only outside, very weird. We replaced the purge valve 2 days ago, light is off still...crossing fingers.
