That is very unusual.
Confirm correct amperage fuse is installed in ABS location (maybe try replacing with new fuse) in that location. Maybe some debris is causing pins to short where ABS fuse is installed. Use compressed air to blow it out and check. Are ABS relays good (ABS1 & ABS2 as per diagram)? Don't believe relays could be causing issue however, at this point, maybe good idea to check anyway. Can probably obtain a few relays from salvage yard to try.

All the fuses are just fine and correct. I did clean the connector and the pins as well without any luck. I did notice a few wires within the harness that look like they could be damaged and I am going to investigate further tomorrow. I drove to college this morning without any drivablity problems (with the ABS fuse still out) but did get an few engine codes. This time it was P1529, P0501, and a A/T code of P0500. That's what the scanner said anyway. I believe the codes are for the speed sensor on the right front wheel (according to quick research and forums) which is the wheel that hit the pothole to begin with. I already changed the sensor, and was able to verify that it works, so maybe one of the leads after the new sensor's wire is messed up going to the ABS module, which could explain a few things. Either way I cleared the codes and drove for almost an hour with no codes or problems, and haven't gotten any since. Car drove fine with the codes anyway.

It's gremlins I tell ya!

Came across the following;

P1529 is a code that relates to a transaxle or transmission control module issue or performance problem.
1. This is only a request from TCM to ECM to turn the MIL on. The fault code is stored in the TCM. The Freeze Frame Data is stored in the ECM under the P1529 request code. Be sure to retrieve freeze frame data before clearing code P1529 from ECM.

Error code P0501
I have a 2002 Sonata that does NOT have abs But there is a sensor that seems to be on ALL Hyundais it is on the right front wheel it costs $140 at major auto parts stores but I got get for $15 on ebay. I had replaced 2 of the 3 sensors on the tranny and that was a waste of $$$. I had all 4 of the codes that Jim mentions and this one $15 part fixed my check engine light (I did have to drive about 200 miles for the other codes to reset. But my check engine light is STILL OFF and all 4 codes are gone. I did NOT have to replace the half shaft, just the sensor

My apologizes, should have posted link to entire discussion. I believe it's the right speed sensor being referred to.

Seems Hyundai is plagued with this error code for different reasons. Came across the following where broken speedometer cable caused the error code;

Speed Sensor Problem codes P1529, P0501, p0500

I've read through those forums before, I'll see if I can find any problems related to those. My speedometer isn't showing any problems, so the wire is probably fine, but I'll check around.
