Default Oil Leaking on alternator

I have a 2008 Santa Fe with 82K miles on it. Took it in for service due to check engine light. I get an email back saying both fuel sending units need to be replace-$417, the tensioner and pulley need to be replaced-$430, the valve cover gasket is leaking oil over the alternator so they both need replacing (alternator and gasket) $700. I've been reading about others who have had oil leaking on the alternator but I was a bit taken back by the cost. Is there a reason for replacing the tensioner and pulley and it costing $430? And is changing the gasket a job that the average joe can do in front of the house?

Are you the original owner?
Which engine? 2.7? V6 or 3.3L V6?

Since I don't know what engine i'll just make some general statements that could cover both engines. Yes, the timing belt or chain tensioner could cost that much because it's a lot of work to get to it. As for the valve cover gasket, it would cost that much because to get the back valve cover off you have to remove the upper intake manifold.

If you are the original owner, some of those costs might be covered under the 10y/100k mile warranty. If you are not the original owner, you will have to pay for all that yourself.

I am not the original owner and I fall out of the second owner warranty by 20k miles. It's the 3.3L V6. I appreciate your response. I was hoping for something a little more on my side but it sounds like I'd be in over my head if I tried it. Thank you for the info.
