Default Sonata 2006 Starter issues

Greetings:
my car just clicks when i turn it over. It's been suggested that there is a short in the starter (and if i give it a nudge, it might start) to at least get it to the dealer.

Can someone tell me where the starter is on this pig and what it looks like?

Cheers

What engine? 2.4L or 3.3L? It should be on the side of the engine that faces the radiator. Follow the positive battery cable to the starter.

Tapping a starter with a hammer will allow it to start if the starter is starting to go. However, if you don't know what a starter looks like, I'd suggest letting someone that knows do it.

3.3. I actually followed the battery cable to the engine and there was a rubber plunger thing (yes, I'm very technical). It wasn't seated properly, so i pushed it in. It now works like a champ and I can at least drive it to the dealer..

Thanks for the quick reply.

If it was loose, that was probably your problem and won't need a trip to the dealer.
