One my Hyundia Sonata turns over but does not catch. I just got laid off and don't have the money to bring it to a shop so I am trying to replace parts by suggestions by friends who work on their cars. So I bought a fuel filter but I can't get the old one off it seems to be rusted on... I could sure use some suggestions... I have tried all my friends ideas short of taking it to the shop!

 

Mine was pretty rusted too. I had to use locking pliers on the smaller nut on the bottom, and a 19mm wrench on the other nut on the bottom.


Are you sure you have a fuel problem? Did you get a trouble code scan? The correct thing to do first is scan for codes. That will rule out a multitude of things.
