In relation with the ATT/TOD Borg Warner transfer case models, ClubTerracan take several months observing and collecting information and testimonies of (bad) experiences from Hyundai Terracan FULL and Kia Sorento EXII users.

Using information from Kia Sorento in a web site in USA (www.kiatechinfo.com) when free (now you must pay for the info), JaviKhan, a member of ClubTerracan, had develop a way to measure the grade of “connection” of the front axle and register it in several situations. First results confirm our suspicious.

We want to send an alert to the users of Terracan models with Automatic Transfer Torque T-case (2 position selector, “auto” & “4Low” ) on the way the electronic control unit manage the following situations:

A ) Descents with slippery surface (wet grass, snow, mud, sand, etc) even in 4Low position.

B ) Snow road when you leave the accelerator, specially in a curve.

This awful behavior clearly compromise the security and integrity of users.

Hyundai and Kia does not recognice the problem. It is our responsibility to warn other users about this and to force an explanation.

The problem does not affect to the manual t-transfer models (GLS in Spain)

The problem is located in the ATT electronic control unit (under drive seat), not in the transfer case itself.
