i have a 03 tiburon and i put the cheap gas and the check engine ligth came on the said at autozone that it was the gas.. does anyone know if that is true and what type of gas should i use?

 

87 octane is all you need. What was the code Autozone said was the gas?

 

i dont remember the code but also, the car smells like gas when i turn it on..

 

i got these codes........p1166 and p1167.. also i dont have a cat.....its just straigth pipes if it helps thanks

 

^^^ That's your problem.

The 2 codes you got are problems with the O2 sensors:
P1166 = Heated Oxygen Sensor 1, bank 1 - at control limit
P1167 = Heated Oxygen Sensor 1, bank 2 - at control limit

FYI, removing the cat is illegal.

 

so if i replace the oxygen sensors it should go away? im going to get a new exhaust my cat was clogged up so thats why i removed it i should be getting the new one by sat..
