on the passenger side rear break, one of the guide rod (bottom) is frozen/stuck in the caliper mounting bracket and badly rusted , is this supposed to slide out like the (top)other guide rod if yes then how do I take it off

 

Yes, both bolts should easily come out. If it's rusted in there it will be very difficult to get it out without damaging the mount. I know this first hand with my 2004 Tiburon. While changing the rotors I could not remove the bolt and it broke off in the mount. I had to buy a new caliper and mount (because you couldn't just buy the mount by itself).



What are you trying to accomplish? Just replacing the brake pads? If so, don't try to remove the bolt, just rotate the caliper out of the way.

If you must get the caliper out, I'd suggest heating the bolt if you can do it without heating the caliper.

 

I have the calipers and the pads out ,the caliper bolt was not an issue, it is one of the guide rod that the bolt fits into (yellow) and slides into the caliper mount which is stuck ( this is the one that has the rubber jacket and requires greasing) , I think this part is called the caliper mounting rod. (hope this helps).

I need to replace the rotor and rebuild the caliper.
